She impacted the music industry with her amazing hits. Now, King tells her own story in the new documentary “Carole King: Natural Woman.” The documentary features previously unseen and rare performance material and home movies, with Carole in a new interview and archive interviews telling her life story as an acclaimed singer-songwriter. To date, more than 400 of her compositions have been recorded by over 1,000 artists, resulting in 100 hit singles. More recently, Carole was a recipient of the 2015 Kennedy Center Honors which celebrates the honorees’ lifetime artistic achievements. Whilst in 2014 a Broadway production ‘Beautiful’ (which tells her life story during the Goffin & King era) has received rave reviews winning a Tony Award and two Olivier Awards for the London production. In 2013, Carole was the first woman to be awarded the prestigious Gershwin Prize for Popular Song by the Library of Congress for her songwriting. Nowadays Carole King sees herself as much as an eco-activist as a songwriter.
